CUMBERLAND – A southern Tennessee resident was arrested last weekend after selling drugs to a police informant.

Operation UNITE charged 57-year-old William Leon Walker Jr. with one count of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

The arrest took place Saturday, December 19, on Main Street in Cumberland.

UNITE detectives, along with Cumberland Police Officer Matt Miles and Kentucky State Police Trooper Jared Boggs, conducted the undercover purchase of OxyContin from Walker.

Walker is a resident of Harrison, Tennessee, located just outside Chattanooga.

Following the arrest police seized 68 OxyContin tablets along with more than $400 in currency.

Walker was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
