Community members are invited to participate in a meeting to plan for a regional Prayer Against Illegal Drugs rally to be held later this year.
The planning meeting will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 30, at the Garfield Community Center, located next to the Pikeville City Park.
Citizens from across southern and eastern Kentucky will be asked to unite in prayer for guidance in addressing issues related to substance abuse at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 18.
Rallies with special speakers will be conducted simultaneously at the Eastern Kentucky Expo Center in Pikeville and at the Victory Christian School Auditorium in Somerset. Those unable to participate in the rallies will be asked to pause for a moment of individual devotions.
