One Step Misery: Kentucky Meth Epidemic
An informational presentation on “One Step Misery: Kentucky Meth Epidemic” will be given by Commonwealth Attorney Jackie Steele in the Knox County Circuit Courtroom in Barbourville, 6 p.m. Thursday, October 27. The manufacturing of methamphetamine should scare you! But how much do you really know about it? For years we have taken steps to combat the growing meth epidemic, but each year we are setting new records for meth production. Kentucky currently ranks fourth nationally in meth lab incidents. Children are unknowingly being contaminated at school. Toxic chemicals are discarded and become a public health nightmare. Taxpayers spend millions of dollars on uncompensated medical care for victims of meth lab explosions. The simplicity of the manufacturing process puts us all at risk. This presentation will explain why you should be concerned.
