Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am writing to thank you for your support of the Lord’s Gym of Jackson County Community Activity Center. It is through your support of the Lord’s Gym that we are able to be of assistance to the community. During the past couple of years we have found many ways to be of service. For instance we have had several benefit singings, some for cancer patients and some for families that have lost their homes to fire. We have also offered many special programs for youth, such as a lock-in for graduating seniors.

However, some of our most successful programs have come through working with other organizations. Some of the groups we have worked with are as follows: Operation UNITE, Appalachia Mission of Hope, Chad’s Hope Rehabilitation Center, and various churches like yours, to name just a few.

As the holiday season is upon us, and Christmas is drawing near, we would like to take some time to thank you for your efforts and to give you an opportunity to learn more about the Lord’s Gym Anti-drug Coalition. To do this we are going to have a special dinner with many of the seasonal favorite foods, which we are calling “The Banquet of Hope”. This dinner is being sponsored by Operation UNITE and the Community Education Program as a service learning project.

“The Banquet of Hope” is scheduled for Friday, December 17, 2010 at 6 p.m. at the Lord’s Gym in McKee. We would like to invite you to attend this dinner. It is our hope that your minister and several from your congregation will attend this program. However, in the spirit of giving, we also ask that your church choose a less fortunate family, which may not normally get this kind of opportunity to be served a traditional holiday meal, and bring them along with you as your guest. All we ask is that you RSVP to us the total number of people you will be bringing, including yourselves, before Monday, December 13. To RSVP please call Amy Combs, Community Education Coordinator, at 287-3571 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday; after hours contact Col. Neal Broadus at 364-2218.

I would now like to take this time to wish a very, merry Christmas and a prosperous and happy New Year from the Lord’s Gym to you and your families.

May God Bless You,

Col. James Neal Broadus,
Chairman Lord’s Gym Board of Directors
