On Saturday, Feb. 12, the weekend before Valentine’s Day, the Lord’s Gym of Jackson County Community Activity Center held their first Holiday 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. The tournament was held as a fundraiser to help the Lord’s Gym to be able to pay some of the operating cost of running the program.

Twelve different teams entered the tournament, with three being awarded trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The winning teams were as follows: (3rd place) Gregory Bowles, Daniel Pinglton and Wesley Pinglton; (2nd place) Shawn Rowland, Will Baldwin and Jordan Conrad; with 1st place going to Troy Truett, Nathan Parrett and Brad King.

The tournament was partially sponsored by PRTC, Lakes Funeral Home and McKee S&T, and helped to raise over $400 for the Lord’s Gym.

The Lord’s Gym Board of Directors would like to thank the following people for their help in assisting with the tournament: Rev. Everett VanZant and Jordan Shannon (tournament organizers); Shane Woods and Trevor O’Brian (referees); Connie Tipton, Christel Jene’, Kerri Weiseman and Helen Sams (CAP/Camp A.J. – concessions & registration); Jake Moss, Jackson County Ministries Director (trophies) and Matt Tunnat (set up/clean up).

We would also like to thank all those that entered and attended the tournament. Your support is greatly appreciated.
