INEZ – A Martin County man faces drug and possibly other charges following an investigation by Operation UNITE.

More than $10,000 in cash, 14 guns and approximately 50 assorted pills – including Roxycodone, Xanax and Opana – in an unmarked bottle were confiscated by police following a search of a home on Bill Stepp Bottom in Inez on February 5.

“We will present evidence gathered from this investigation to a Martin County Grand Jury for possible indictment,” said Dan Smoot, law enforcement director for UNITE.

The suspect, 58-year-old Andy Stacy, was home with his wife and 13-year-old granddaughter when detectives, Martin County Sheriff Garmon Preece, and three deputies executed the search warrant just before 7 a.m. Saturday.

Social Services was notified about the juvenile, who was ultimately turned over to the custody of her mother.
