Nineteen high school seniors have been selected to receive inaugural “I Am UNITE” scholarships for being champions for anti-drug efforts.

Each scholarship is worth $1,500 toward post-secondary education expenses. Funding for the scholarships comes from proceeds of the National Rx Drug Abuse Summit.

Receiving scholarships for the 2012-13 school year are:

  • Kennedy King, Knott County Central High

  • Jeannie McGuinn, Breathitt County High
  • Cara Middleton, Harlan County High
