PIKEVILLE – Operation UNITE, UNITE Clubs, and the KY HELP Statewide Call Center were featured during the SOAR “Turn The Tide” Substance Use Disorder Provider Education Seminar held at University of Pikeville on October 24, 2018.

The day-long program featured: An over of Operation UNITE from Deputy Director Tom Vicini; stories of addiction from “I Am UNITE” scholarship recipients Rebecca Robinette and Chase Gilbert; and a call center overview from Outreach Specialist Courtney Maynard.

UNITE Club members from James D. Adams Middle, Elkhorn City Elementary, Feds Creek Elementary, Johns Creek Elementary, Millard Middle, and Mullins Elementary schools were in attendance.

Other presenters included U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Commissioner for Public Health Dr. Jeffrey Howard, Kentucky State Police Captain Jennifer Sandlin (a UNITE Board member who coordinates the Angel Initiative), and Floyd County Superintendent Danny Adkins.
